We offer light, healthy, locally-sourced meals for brunch and dinner.
We are proud to serve only locally sourced fish, meat, fruits, and vegetables.
Since we are situated on a 65-acre coconut plantation, we utilize coconuts in lots of our healthy recipes. We use coconut milk in place of dairy and fry with freshly-pressed coconut oil in place of vegetable oil. Most of the fruits and vegetables that we cook with come from our own garden. Keith is our in-house garden expert who gingerly cares for our fresh herbs, vegetable garden, and fruit orchards daily. We raise healthy organic vegetables and pick them ourselves. For anything we cannot cultivate, we work directly with farmers and fishermen on Bequia and St. Vincent to serve the freshest fish, meat, fruit, and vegetables. We have beehives located on our plantation so we also use fresh local honey in our meals.
When it comes to the environment, we have become a completely plastic straw-free cafe to limit the amount of plastic ending up in our natural atmosphere. In fact, Sugar Reef was the first to instate a no-straw policy on Bequia, which subsequently led the way for other businesses on the island to follow suit. If available, we offer locally-grown bamboo straws for guests to use while they dine with us.
Recently, St. Vincent has created a recycling collection facility that we use. Therefore, we try to either recycle or reuse as much of the plastic and glass as we can. The environment is very important to us and so we try to think about our impact in everything we do.
All in all, this is the place to be if you want to eat a locally inspired, healthy meal, coupled with a fresh drink, while the ocean breeze combs through your hair. We’d be happy to have you come enjoy a meal with us!
